Pennsauken and Lenape matched each other point for point through the first three quarters. A touchdown pass from Andre Davis to Marcus Jones and a successful PAT by Sidney Holmes gave Pennsauken a 22-15 lead early in the fourth quarter. Lenape pulled within 22-21 on a one yard touchdown run by Steve Kanclyarz with one minute remaining in the fourth quarter. However, playing for the win on the road, Lenape's two-point conversion attempt was unsuccessful. Following an unsuccessful onside kick attempt by Lenape, host Pennsauken escaped with a 22-21 win. Michael Gallo scored from one yard out and Anthony Clayton returned a punt 53 yards for a touchdown as Cinnaminson was well on the way to building a 31-0 lead over Maple Shade. Karon Gibson, Dyshawn Davis, Brian Purnell, Jared Roberts, and Herb Harris all recorded touchdown runs as the Thundering Herd opened up the 2009 football season with a 48-0 pounding of Sterling. Brian Purnell also completed a touchdown pass to Dyshawn Davis, and Eric Blackwell returned an interception for a touchdown to complete the scoring for Woodbury. Rasheed Williams ran for a touchdown in the first quarter and Jordan VanValkenburg booted a field goal in the second quarter as Kingsway built a 10-0 halftime lead. With the start of the South Jersey high school football season just one week away, Moorestown took the opportunity to host Paul VI in a game-like scrimmage. Paul VI got off to a quick start when Brett Pierce returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown. Then, following a Moorestown turnover, the Eagles scored again on their very first offensive play when James Kenner took it into the endzone. The Quakers finally got their offense in gear and scored on a one yard run by Brandon Lindenman midway through the first quarter. Moorestown will open the regular season September 11th hosting Rancocas Valley. Paul VI will open their season the next day at Woodrow Wilson. Click here to see the photo gallery.

After scoring just one run the night before, the Cinnaminson bats came alive in the very first inning scoring five runs in that inning. Cinnaminson scored five more runs in the fifth inning and three insurance runs in the sixth inning on the way to a 14-4 win over the Burlington Mets to capture the Rancocas Valley League Championship. Cinnaminson starter Ryan Varga pitched into the fifth inning. Cory Mingin was near perfect in relief. This is Cinnaminson's first Rancocas Valley League Championship since the 2006 season, when they won the third of three consecutive championships. Click here to see the photo gallery.

Cinnaminson scored a run in the top of the first inning when Frank Sirroli raced home from third following a passed ball. When Burlington starter Carl Taylor and Cinnaminson starter Nick Melchoirre locked up in a pitchers dual, it started to look as if that 1-0 lead may hold up. Melchoirre did work out of a bases loaded jam in the sixth inning. However, Melchoirre and releiver Cory Mingin couldn't stop Burlington in the bottom of the seventh. After tying the game 1-1, Garrett Mull's base hit knocked in the winning run as the Mets took game two in dramatic fashion. Click here to see the photo gallery.

Cinnaminson defeated the Burlington Mets 4-2 to grab the opening game of the best-of-three Rancocas Valley League Finals. Starting pitcher Bob Diepold got all the run support he needed in the bottom of the first inning when Cinnaminson scored three times. Diepold pitched into the sixth inning to pick up the win. Delran scored two runs in the top of the second inning and held that 2-0 lead when this game was suspended due to heavy rain in the bottom of the fourth inning. When play resumed the following evening, Delran tacked on two more runs to take a 4-0 lead. However, Cinnaminson answered back with four runs to tie the game 4-4. Then, Cinnaminson won the game in the bottom of the eighth inning on a bases-loaded RBI single by Dennis O'Hanlen. Cinnaminson will go on to play the Burlington Mets in the Rancocas Valley League Baseball Finals. Click here to see the photo gallery.

Dan Graham broke up a scoreless tie in the bottom of the fourth inning when his base hit knocked in Jeff Vitale with Burlington's first run of the night. The Mets would go on to score one more run in the fourth and two insurance runs in the sixth inning. Starting Pitcher John Harvey went the distance to earn the shutout win for Burlington. A six-run fourth inning broke open a 1-1 tie and helped propel the visiting Bridgeport Bluefish to an 11-6 win over the Camden Riversharks in a game played at Campbell's Field. Camden rallied from an 11-1 deficit to score five runs over the last two innings but couldn't pull any closer than the final score of 11-6. Bridgeport's Gary Knotts threw seven strong innings to pick up the win. The Rivershark's Ryan DiPietro was tagged with the loss after giving up six runs and failing to make it through the fourth inning. Click here to see the photo gallery.
