Oakcrest, the seventh seed in the NJSIAA South Jersey Group IV playoffs, tried for their third straight road victory after knocking off second-seeded Williamstown and third-seeded Atlantic City. However, top-seeded Cherokee would have no part in that as the Chiefs scored on their first two possessions on the way to a 33-6 victory over visiting Oakcrest. Cherokee quarterback Andy Martin threw for three touchdowns while Mike Zeuli and Jon Bonilla each ran for a touchdown. Oakcrest avoided the shutout when Mark Clements caught a touchdown pass on the last play of the game. The South Jersey Championship was Cherokee's second consecutive and eighth in school history. Shawnee and Lenape met for the 40th time in this Thanksgiving rivalry. Prior to the game, Alumni from both schools who played in the first game of this series back in 1971, including current Shawnee Head Coach Tim Gushue, were recognized and honored. As for the 2010 edition of this rivalry, Shawnee reeled off 17 unanswered points after an early 7-7 tie and went on to defeat visiting Lenape by the score of 31-17. Ed Royds ran for two of Shawnee's touchdowns and Renegade quarterback Vince Corbi ran for another. The win was Shawnee's 32nd in this Thanksgiving rivalry against sister school Lenape. After three scoreless quarters in their annual Thanksgiving rivalry against Camden Catholic, James Kenner got Paul VI on the scoreboard with a 3-yard touchdown run on the first play of the fourth quarter. The Eagles added a second touchdown on a pass from Khaalig Burroughs to Jamie Calhoun with just over six minutes remaining in the game. Camden Catholic's best scoring opportunity came on a first and goal in the second quarter. However, that drive ended when the Paul VI goaline defense stopped the Irish on a fourth and goal. James Kenner was named the game MVP for Paul VI while Jarred Alwan was named the game MVP for Camden Catholic. Click here to see the photo gallery.

Max Valles intercepted a Sylvester Wright pass and returned it for a touchdown to give St. Joseph an early 7-0 lead. After two touchdown runs by Gordon Hill, St. Joseph had a 21-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Wildcats added 22 points in the second quarter on the way to routing St. Anthony 50-7. Gordon Hill finished the day with four rushing touchdowns. Eli Pogue caught a touchdown pass and Cody Sampson rushed for the Wildcat's final score of the night. St. Anthony's lone score came on a 65-yard touchdown pass from Sylvester Wright to Craig Davilla. St. Joseph will now face St. Mary of Rutherford for the Non-Public Groups I / II Championship the first weekend of December. Click here to see the photo gallery.

In a rematch of last year's South Jersey Group IV final, the Cherokee Chiefs built a 14-0 halftime lead following a touchdown run by quarterback Andrew Martin and a touchdown pass from Martin to Michael Zeuli. Things got a little tense on the Cherokee sideline when Egg Harbor Township's Kevin Marquez picked off an Andrew Martin pass and returned it 65 yards for a touchdown to cut Cherokee's lead to 14-7 in the third quarter. However, the Chiefs responded with a touchdown run by Zaire Williams early in the fourth quarter and a long touchdown run by Nicholas Follet to seal the victory. The top-seeded Chiefs will host the Oakcrest Falcons for the South Jersey Group IV Championship on December 4th. Click here to see the photo gallery.

After a first quarter that ended with the score knotted 6-6, Winslow Township exploded for 28 points in the second quarter as the fourth-seeded Eagles went on to defeat the fifth-seeded Quakers by the score of 47-21. Winslow Township quarterback Bill Belton ran for two touchdowns and threw three touchdown passes. Shaun Turner added a touchdown run and returned a punt 65 yards for a touchdown. Winslow Township moves on to the second round of the NJSIAA South Jersey Group III playoffs where they will travel to Lacey Township to face the Lacey Lions. Click here to see the photo gallery.

The sixth-seeded Green Wave were thinking upset as they led the third-seeded Eagles for most of the first three quarters. A big 20-point third quarter allowed Pennsvile to take a 27-25 lead with 52 seconds remaining in that quarter and the Eagles held on to make that the final score. Pennsville's Matt Drummond help preserve the victory with an interception in the endzone that stopped an Audubon drive late in the fourth quarter. Pennsville's Ryan Hawthorne rushed for four touchdowns, including three in the third quarter alone. Click here to see the photo gallery.

Nathaniel Brown picked off a Kevin Monahan pass, returned it 35 yards for a touchdown, and Pemberton was on the board less than three minutes into this game. Moments later, the Hornets were awarded two points for a safety when Hightstown's Abdul Namoya was tackled in his own endzone. Pemberton added one more touchdown in the second quarter on a Nigel Roberson run to make the score 15-0 at halftime. The New Egypt Warriors traveled to Florence and the Flashes were not the least bit intimidated by New Egypt's 6-1 record. After a closely fought scoreless first half, Florence got on the board with 47 seconds remaining in the third quarter on a 4-yard touchdown run by Jordan Stockton. Jake Foehr and D'Andre Davis added insurance for the Flashes with touchdown runs in the fourth quarter. The win pretty much assures Florence a berth in the Central Jersey Group I Playoffs, but the Flashes will have to wait until Monday for the official word from the NJSIAA. When the Tigers and Colts scored on each of their first two possessions, this game began to look like it might be one for the record books. However, things settled down after that. Cumberland running back Charles Wynder scored the lone touchdown of the second quarter as the Colts took a 20-14 lead into the locker room. After Wilson tied the game 20-20 in the third quarter, Charles Wynder put this game away with three more rushing touchdowns, giving him four on the evening. Cumberland built a 40-20 lead and held on to win 40-28. Wynder finished the night with 250 yards rushing. Click here to see the photo gallery.

Six different running backs scored touchdowns for the Bears and Josh Foster picked up a Riverside fumble and returned it 97 yeards for another Delran touchdown as the Bears delighted their crowd on Homecoming Day with a 47-22 win over arch rival Riverside. Bill Stokes had an 80-yard touchdown run which was Delran's longest of the day and season. After building a 35-0 halftime lead, Delran Coach Pete Miles took advantage and rested many of his starters in the second half. Sterling snapped a 17-game losing strike with a 20-13 win over Colonial Conference opponent Gateway in front of a Homecoming crowd. The Gators led this game 7-6 at halftime. But then Sterling's Marcus Taylor picked off a Joe Sesko pass and returned it for a touchdown in the third quarter. Taylor scored his second touchdown of the evening on a touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Gateway scored in the final minutes to cut Sterling's lead to 20-13, but the Gators couldn't capitalize on their final possession when they failed to convert a fourth down with just seconds remaining. Marcus Upchurch put on quite a show for the Woodbury fans by running for four touchdowns as the Thundering Herd defeated Colonial Conference opponent Overbrook 35-0. Upchurch was also on the receiving end of a two point conversion from quarterback Anthony Averett. Upchurch had what would have been a fifth touchdown called back by a Woodbury offensive penalty. Alex Hindle finished off the scoring for the Thundering Herd on a 40-yard return of an interception for a touchdown. Click here to see the photo gallery.

Moorestown spoiled Kingsway's Homecoming by thumping the Dragons 52-20. Kingsway responded by matching Moorestown's fist two touchdowns, but then a 34-yard field goal by Alex Martinelli gave the Quakers a 17-14 lead at halftime. The Quakers then scored 28 unanswerd points in the third quarter to blow this game wide open and eventually won by the 52-20 margin. Moorestown's Kamal Steward ran for two touchdowns and quarterback Andrew Lisa threw two touchdown passes. At halftime, Dragon place kicker Krista Carroll was named Kingsway's Homecoming Queen. Cumberland scored on their first possession of the game on a drive that was capped by a touchdown run by Senior running back JaRon Cody. Moments later Charles Clark intercepted a Brian Keller pass and returned it 65 yards for a touchdown as the Colts built a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. Triton, who had a second quarter touchdown erased by an offensive penalty, finally got on the board in the third quarter on a touchdown run by Dan Bekier. However Cumberland sealed the game in the fourth quarter when Senior running back Charles Wynder punched it in from one yard out. Click here to see the photo gallery.
